Who is Trusant Technologies, LLC?

Trusant Technologies, LLC is an Engineering and IT Professional Services company formed in February, 2002. The company is owned by its original founder, Joe DiGangi, and its co-owner, Vince Marucci, and is based out of Columbia, MD, with an additional office located in San Antonio, TX.

What does “Trusant” mean?

“Trusant” is purposefully intended to be a close play on the words “trust” and “truth” and is meant to portray an organization of high ethical and moral standards. These days, we feel those qualities are more important in an organization than ever before. Clients want to work with an organization that they believe will do right by them. No one wants to pay for high-priced consultants who consistently bother them for more and more work without delivering what they said they would deliver. We deliver what we say we will, period.

The word “trusant” itself is actually the passive derivative of a Latin verb which means “that which has been thrust upon you” – similar to all the new technologies in the world today. You don't have a choice sometimes – because it's thrown at you and you have to deal with it somehow. We'll help organizations do just that. Many of our clients don't know which way to turn – web services, java, .NET, CRM, etc. in the IT world, and all the latest and greatest project management techniques for IT projects and engineering projects. All the buzzwords are there, but how do you get a handle on which technology to use – and more importantly – why, and what's the true return on investment? Forget the hype, forget the buzzwords – help me and my company be more successful. That's what we're here for.

Why was Trusant founded?

We have both previously served many years in the U.S. Military, and then in the private sector. Private sector work can be rewarding and lucrative, but doesn't seem to give the same satisfaction as doing something for your country. It sounds slightly cliché, but anyone who has served their country knows what I'm talking about. Private sector work is always about two-three years ahead of government work, especially in the IT field, so we thought we could bring our experience and talent to government work – and maybe help out in the process. There are constantly new ways, new technologies, and new methods being developed in the private sector that lead the government market by a long time period – and we think we can bring those new methods and technologies to the government faster. If that helps the government do its job better – and makes the country safer, in however small a way, all the better. If you do some checking, you'll find that the federal government is making a huge push to incorporate private sector methods and technologies to make themselves better.

What is the key differentiating factor for Trusant?

On our staff are senior developers, program managers, project managers, senior managers, civil engineers, and principal engineers. Trusant is focused on providing senior level technical and project management for its clients, as well as strong development and project management teams. We know our staff very well, and these people are top notch. We wouldn't give you anything less than the best people. This is the key differentiator for our clients. We can provide the leadership or senior technical expertise for our clients' projects - or perform the complete project ourselves, on budget – and faster and better than anyone else.

What technologies does Trusant Technologies, LLC deal with?

The technology focus for Trusant's IT services business is in several key areas – but the most important one is content management. We have been dealing for over nine years (in this company and others) with content management projects, installations, upgrades, business process analysis, and integrations. These content management projects typically touch upon enterprise critical software and enterprise-wide business processes – hence our experience has grown in many areas beyond just content management, although that remains our core strength. Many of the projects we have participated in have stretched across huge enterprises – multinational corporations with critical content management needs. There are a lot of different technologies you have to know to do these projects correctly. If we work with EMC Documentum, for example, we really have to have experts in database software, web development, and enterprise application integration expertise. So – we may not advertise that we do web development in general, but we naturally have that ability based on our work in enterprise content management In fact, the strong services we provide typically fall in the following categories:
  • IT Program and Project Management
  • IT Project Analysis
  • Content Management:
        – EMC Documentum
        – Microsoft SharePoint
        – IBM Content Manager
  • Instructional System Design/Training
  • Enterprise Application Integration
  • Web and Custom Software Development (Java, J2EE, JSP, Visual Basic, ASP, .NET, etc.)
  • Database software (Oracle, SQL Server)

What about your engineering services practice ?

Our engineering services practice is really focused on providing top-notch program and project management support for our clients who are either unable to provide their own complete staff, due to budget or personnel constraints - or it is not a core function of their personnel, and they need short-term help for construction projects that they've undertaken. For example, many of our clients have started new construction to solve ongoing space shortages or to replace old and outdated buildings. We can help them manage their project, including cost estimating, design reviews, acting as their sponsor with the construction contractor - and generally looking out for their best interests.

Trusant also now provides Construction Management Services either At-Risk or acting as the Owner's Agent. Our specialty is the design, build-out, or renovation of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. We can help you upgrade your outdated locations for increased power, space, and cooling loads demanded by today's computing systems.

Is there anything else you want to add?

We think we've got the right ingredients for our market – a trustworthy company with high moral and ethical standards, experience in the technologies and the market, and excellence in doing the job.
